The Training Traveller

By jem

10 months ago my life changed quite dramatically. Long story short, it prompted me to follow my dreams to travel, Properly travel!! After much organisation, packing my life up, changing the dynamics of my training/coaching business & saying goodbye to close family, friends & treasured clients I left the uk, backpack in tow with minimal set plans. This was it, after years of visiting 29countries on breaks between 2 & 25nights and a stint working on cruise ships, I had taken the plunge & a years visa for Australia. Not something that is easily done when you are about to turn 30. The fear of the unknown, the expectation of others, society frowning upon it. Luckily I was surrounded by many who just supported my dreams, whether they 'got it' or not.

For me, the hardest part & biggest fear was losing routine, and part of me wanted & needed to force this upon myself, 1, to appreciate what I had and 2, to be more free, flexible and spontaneous..to remember that we were born to LIVE, and see the world & the beauty in it that we are so lucky to be surrounded by. I needed more moments, not things.

Strangely enough, this 'routine' addiction is something I have spent years trying to drum into others, and here was me finding a small exit away from what I preach! in fact, it was just real life balance, which I can now see & also teach & share. We are so much more powerful, accepting, responsive, receptive & at peace with ourselves and others when we learn to create real life balance. Learning to burn the candle from just one end, but regularly enough!

10Weeks into my journey, I have been to Dubai, travelled around New Zealand, Island hopped in beautiful Fiji & found a gym to train others in Sydney for a short gap before my next trip. I haven't blogged anywhere near as much as planned or had the facilities to spend planned time on marketing, but I have started to find some real life balance, helped inspire those I left behind, and trained, which is my drug! at every opportunity. My approach to food is much more flexible and I am generally more relaxed.

My passion, as you may have read in my bio is to help others, and it truly still is..but to do so, you must first help yourself!
